The Financial Planning & Analysis group sets our annual company and business units’ financial and operating goals and supports the company in navigating through the various business cycles, initiatives and industry trends to ensure that the company achieves its long-range business and financial objectives.
The team applies a systematic and disciplined approach to Choice’s financial plans, and partners with business leaders across the company to identify opportunities to improve the organization’s growth and profitability.
As a key leader within our Financial Planning & Analysis team, you will lead Choice’s enterprise-wide planning, budgeting and forecasting process, and partner with functional leads to provide key insights and recommendations to drive short and long-term business performance.

Your Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of company target setting, budgeting, forecasting, and planning process.
- Provide the overall strategic direction of the Choice Hotels Consolidation and Reporting function in the production, delivery and optimization of reporting packages, presentation materials and operational / financial dashboards used by the Executive team, business and functional teams and investor relations.
- Develop in-depth analysis of the business financial performance, focus on the key drivers impacting results, advise on risk and opportunities, and recommend action plans, including gap closures, considerations for managing costs, and growing revenue and profitability.
- Present results to C-Suite executives, including the CFO and CEO. Distill complex insights into materials enabling decision-making.
- Manage a team of professionals that provide oversight of all aspects of the development and communication of executive reviews for Actuals, Forecast, Budget, Scenario Planning and Risk Mitigation Plans.
- The FP&A Director is expected to be both a manager and a mentor. Building high performance teams and developing talent while leading is a must for this role.
- Analyze detailed finance and accounting processes to identify improvement opportunities in the following areas : Internal and external reporting;
- inclusion / usage of non-financial metrics; segment financials and performance management; budgeting and forecasting capabilities;
cash flow optimization and the use of capital. Act as an advisor to operating teams looking to identify financial risks and opportunities of their business units.
- Support the continuation of a best-in-class controls environment, by performing key financial controls in partnership with FP&A leadership, accounting and business leaders.
- Demonstrate ability to simplify complex processes to improve reliability and achieve cost and cycle time reductions, as well as manage work streams of a complex project to implement process improvements.
- Create a vision for balanced resource allocation for optimal performance of FP&A Systems.
- Lead a resource in managing the day-to-day of Choice CPM system administration activities, assessing, and prioritizing future system capabilities improvements considering in-house knowledge and business needs.
Your Experienc e, Skills & Competencies
- BS Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent, MBA preferred.
- At least 8+ years with related experience, including specific FP&A experience.
- Experience managing a high performing team required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel (financial modeling and analytical techniques) and Power PointPowerPoint.
- Strong business acumen and ability to be seen as a trusted business partner by the functional operating segments.
- Demonstrates key competencies to include results orientation with a strong sense of urgency; excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong partnerships;
experience managing a high performing team.
Your Team
This is a leadership role that will report to the Senior Director Financial Planning & Analysis. You will have approximately 3 direct reports and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.

As our Director FP&A Franchising Business & Consolidation, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, MD.
Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we’re located one block away from the North Bethesda Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
Right now, our associates in corporate headquarters are working in a hybrid environment, up to 4 days per week in the office and virtually from your home office the remaining days.
