Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Senior Research Associate for temporary position (with potential to extend / convert) at a leading client in South San Francisco, CA.

Pay Rate :

$33-37.00 / Hour (non-negotiable)

Overview :

The Senior Research Associate will join the biochemistry group at our client and will work closely with senior members and cross-functional project teams.

This role will be responsible for performing in vitro assays to help advance a variety of drug discovery projects. This is a temporary contractor position with a 12-month term.

Monday Friday, Standard Hours

Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop and perform biochemical and biophysical assays for compound profiling and mechanism-of-action studies.
  • Interpret and analyze complex data using appropriate data analysis tools and programs
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments and results.
  • Prepare detailed report and present results in internal or collaboration project meetings.

Qualifications :

  • Education & Experience :
  • MS in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, enzymology or a related field with less than 2 years of biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience, or BS with 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience with relevant basic laboratory techniques and equipment.
  • Experience with data analysis software and databases.
  • Familiar with biochemical, biophysical assay design and development.
  • Experience with biochemical and biophysical formats including HTRF, AlphaLISA, fluorescence intensity, fluorescence polarization, DSF, SPR / GCI and MST is a plus.
  • Knowledge of recombinant protein expression and purification is desirable.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, succeed in a team environment and learn new tasks independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, ability to build productive internal / external working relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • The successful candidate must be flexible and adaptable to the needs of a small company.
  • Physical Requirements :
  • It is expected that the employee is able to sit / stand at a desk and have full use of a computer through its standard input devices (e.g., mouse and keyboard).
  • While in the laboratory, employees will be expected to wear appropriate safety equipment, including a lab coat, gloves, goggles, and mask.
