Summary : The Production Control Planner I’s (PCP-I) primary responsibility to provide shop orders and information from the production plan to various departments using shop load and capacity metrics.
Perform production control duties to ensure commitments to internal and external customers are met. The PCP-I focuses primarily on KHS USA’s Process equipment production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Understand current shop load and capacity to create capacity plan to improve OTIF
- Using master schedule and various sources, provide production schedule for manufacturing, sub assembly and final assembly department;
- Evaluate incoming customer orders and provide lead time, quotes and commitment dates for process technology product line;
- Maintain the Master Schedule by gathering information from all departments through production meetings;
- Work with engineering , manufacturing and final assembly departments to ensure critical deadlines are met;
- Generate shop orders in the Company’s Enterprise Resource Planning system to fill the demand for process machines, customer orders and min / max orders;
- Revise due dates on shop orders to reflect shifts in demand and to keep production schedule current;
- Maintain shop order data : investigate discrepancies, resolve and close shop orders where necessary;
- Monitor and communicate progress of projects, customer orders and other assignments to appropriate parties;
- Acknowledge and execute Engineering Change Requests regarding process orders and supporting components;
- Generate and track shop orders to support the RMA, NCMR, ISR and Customer Down processes;
- Additional duties and responsibilities as applicable.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Education and / or Experience
High school diploma; Minimum of three years of planning experience in manufacturing or operations.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have mastery of MS office and database software, Inventory software, Manufacturing software, and Order processing systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
APICS membership, CPIM certification preferred
