JOB OVERVIEW
In close collaboration with the Chief Development Officer this position will play a critical role in supporting the Development Team’s annual fundraising objectives by producing compelling written copy and elegantly-designed collateral (print and digital) to serve our constituents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Write copy for key development collateral, including but not limited to appeals, newsletters, annual report, proposals, social media posts, acknowledgement letters, website
Serve as in-house designer for marketing materials, digital media assets, printed invitations, and others as assigned
Design, implement, and manage HFM’s first-ever e-newsletter
Project manage communications-specific projects, including but not limited to Annual Report, e-newsletter, appeals
Create and maintain a development communications calendar
Keep Development-specific portions of the HFM website updated and collaborate with web designer to facilitate needed design / content changes
Collect and organize easily-accessible impact stories, quotes, photos for use in Development collateral
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree
Sincere enthusiasm for the mission of Holy Family Ministries
Ability to work independently and proactively and manage up and down the reporting chain
Exceptional written communication skills, with emphasis in Development-specific copywriting
Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, InDesign, and the like
Understanding of social media best practices as a tool for fundraising
Strong graphical eye (both design and photography)
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work with limited oversight
Experience using G Suite
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Able to work indoors and occasionally outdoors. Role requires sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, seeing, hearing, and the ability to lift a minimum of 10lbs.
