Louisiana Bridge Builders ( LBB ) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD).

LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.

5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.

JOB SUMMARY

The Drafter is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by providing drafting and design support during the planning, design, and construction of the project.

LOCATION

This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports on the Drafting portion of the Project.
• Supports on the Quantity Takeoff activities of the Project.
• Supports construction during the execution stage.
• Identifies technical risks and participates in the preparation of risk reports.
• Participates in the review of the Project budget forecasts, providing the necessary technical part for its realization.
• Establishes and implements the design management strategy and other technical procedures for the project.
• Support in the execution stage (project assistance team to resolve nonconformities, RFI with designers and unexpected events during construction).
• Collaborates within the technical department, as well as with other departments.
• Guarantees the correct transmission of design information to the entire project team.
• Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers / public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
• Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.
• Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal.
• Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches.
• Ability to function effectively as a team player and collaborator.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, as needed, to best serve the business operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

At a minimum, the Drafter must have a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 3+ years of structural engineering / drafting experience in addition to proven proficiency of MicroStation and REVIT.

Experience in the construction industry and working in multi-cultural settings is preferred.
