Main Purpose of Job
This position is the full performance level of work involving planning, coordinating, and evaluating volunteer activities.
This position also supports the Director of Community Resources and Development with secretarial, clerical and logistical duties.
This position will work directly with the Director to prepare the newsletter and other possible mailings needed to develop public awareness of the John L.
Gildner RICA (JLG-RICA) program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience : Five years of experience involving planning, coordinating and evaluating volunteer activities in a state facility, institution or community-based program.
Notes : 1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in social sciences, journalism, public relations or a related field and one year of experience involving planning, coordinating and evaluating volunteer activities in a state facility, institution or community-based program for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of graduate level education in social sciences, journalism, public relations or a related field from an accredited college or university at a rate of 30 credit hours for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following :
- Experience working with adolescents with emotional disabilities and court involved youth
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Publisher
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
2. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete training and maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this classification will be required to provide the facility with a telephone number at which they can be reached.
