Job Purpose :
At Orthopaedic Specialty Group, Clinical Serves as point person for OSG patient messages regarding clinical issues.
Job Duties :
- Manages calls, replies to patients, and documents details in EMR.
- Consults clinical protocols to answer patient questions.
- Provides patient education, under direction of Providers.
- Handles patient requests for updated work notes, gym notes, PT orders.
- Advises patients regarding routine pre and post op questions, dressings, braces, use of ice / machine, timing of medications, medication issues.
- Consults Providers as needed to advise patients beyond current scope of knowledge and experience.
- Promptly forwards messages requiring Provider directly to Provider, contacting personally if urgent.
Skills / Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years of experience in an orthopaedic setting preferred
- Clinical background required
- Ideal candidate must be able to thrive in fast-paced environment where quality patient care is essential.
- Orthopaedic experience preferred, but will train strong candidate.
- Must be detail oriented and demonstrate the ability to apply orthopaedic concepts.
- Must be capable of demonstrating professional composure in emergent or stressful situations.
- References are required.
