RN NICU FT Days

Description The Staff RN uses the nursing process to deliver nursing care to a given patient care population as it relates to the care setting. Nursing care is based on the interpretation and execution of the medical and nursing plan of treatment utilizing established procedures standards and protocols of individuals within the assigned work shift. The Staff RN provides nursing care to the population served in the unit. Collaborates with and assists the clinical manager, physicians, CNS, Clinical Quality and director with submission and aggregation of data according to standards and within established timelines.Identifies staff competencies, educational needs and readiness to learn, mentors and coaches as needed or refers to CNSImplements Infection Control procedures to reduce hospital acquired infections

• Central line
• Urinary tract
• Surgical site
• Respiratory, including influenza Performs central line care as outlined in hospital policy and procedure. Assists in breastfeeding education and process, including pump cleaning, with mothers.Knowledge of O2 therapy, airway insertion, and mechanical ventilation maintenance and weaning.Ability to perform at a high risk delivery, including emergency neonatal resuscitation efforts and Code management.
