Role
The primary function of this role is to assist the Branch Manager in developing and managing a branch operation that increases sales, profitability, market shares, and member and employee satisfaction by directing, coordinating and monitoring sales, branch operations and personnel development.
Directs, supervises and coordinates the work of the Member Service Consultants of a full service branch whose focus is loan and membership growth, training, staff development, and service and sales management.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
40% - Staff Management. Direct, develop, motivate, and discipline branch personnel; provide feedback for performance evaluations and recommend appropriate personnel actions.
Hold periodic meetings to discuss goals, changes in procedures, new developments or services and to present general information.
Cross train personnel in all products and services offered at the credit union and systems utilized by the member services staff.
Provide assistance in resolving member and employee problems and concerns. Keeps the Branch Manager aware of member service activities, sales efforts, results, needs, roadblocks and occasionally prepares and submit standard reports.
30% - Member Service. Assist the Branch Manager with the planning and direction of activities to promote efforts to meet strategic goals through service and sales meetings, tracking, coaching and follow up.
Develop and promote NRLFCU relationships via various means including involvement in the current membership, community associations and SEGs to increase loan and membership growth.
Participate in various activities such as local NRLFCU sponsored events.
30% - Production. Monitor branch activity and results relative to established objectives and ensure appropriate steps are taken to maintain high levels of member satisfaction.
Underwrite loan applications up to an assigned level of authority, and make decision recommendations on applications requiring a higher level of lending authority for approval.
Provide decisions to employees with lower levels of authority.
Must comply with applicable laws and regulation, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, the Office of Foreign Assets Control, and the SAFE Act.
Knowledge & Skills
Experience
Two to Five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
Education / Certifications / Licenses
A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade.
Interpersonal Skills
The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust.
Obtaining cooperation and fostering sound relationships (internally and / or externally) is an important part of the job.
Other Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to express ideas and procedures clearly and concisely; ability to work with highly sensitive information is required.
Knowledge and proficient use of computer applications to include spreadsheet and word processing programs; excellent organizational skills;
must demonstrate leadership skills; must effectively delegate and manage time accordingly; must be detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills.

Physical Requirements
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.
Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
Mental and / or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics.
Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.
Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and / or fast pace.
Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
