Overview

TRC is seeking Entry Level Environmental Engineers to join our Colorado Engineering, Construction, and Remediation team.

Located in either Lakewood or Fort Collins, Colorado, this position(s) would be part of a very skilled team and work closely with Project Managers and other technical leads providing technical support and field services for site investigation, due diligence, groundwater monitoring, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of collaborative project teams on site assessment, investigation, and remediation under Federal or State regulations.
  • Perform and lead a variety of fieldwork including environmental assessments, site inspections, and provide contractor oversight.
  • Interpret hydrogeological and chemical data and trends.
  • Perform environmental compliance tasks including SPCC planning, storm water planning, RCRA compliance, permit applications and renewals, toxic chemical usage / processing reporting, and hazardous waste related projects.
  • Prepare technical correspondence, technical reports, and work plans.
  • Perform project tasks and provide accountability to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, and quality.
  • Travel regionally and state-wide on short- and long-term assignments.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training (preferred but not required)
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in geology, environmental science, engineering, or related degree from an accredited university
  • Zero to three years of work experience in the field of environmental consulting, environmental engineering, or other related environmental / industrial technical field (preferred but not required)
  • Must be a self-scheduler, be self-motivated, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Desire to work outside at industrial facilities or remote locations performing environmental data collection including soil and groundwater sampling, and overseeing drilling and construction contractors
  • Demonstrated work experience in any of the following areas : environmental soil and groundwater sampling, environmental compliance assessment and reporting, due diligence / Phase I ESAs, SWPPP / SPCC preparation, Tier II reporting, implementation of remediation technologies (preferred but not required)
  • Aptitude to learn a working knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations
  • Experience executing project tasks (field and office) and managing subcontractors (preferred but not required)
  • Excellent teamwork, writing, communication, and computer skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of specialized environmental software (soil boring logs, database, GIS data entry, and / or project estimation or desirable.

Compensation : In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation : Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
