McDermott Law, LLC, a boutique Plaintiffs-focused firm located in the Denver Tech Center, has an opening for a full-time associate attorney.
The firm is dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals who have claims for insurance benefits in the areas of long-term and short-term disability, life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), health, and long-term care.
The majority of the claims arise under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), but we also represent individuals with their claims under individual policies, church plans, and governmental plans such as the Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA).

Ideal candidates will have particular experience in handling insurance claims, ERISA matters, and medical claims, and possess the ability to independently manage a caseload with the assistance of the law firm staff.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Licensed and in good standing with the Colorado State Bar
- Experience handling insurance matters and civil litigation
- Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Experience with preparing motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Substantial knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
- Compassion for the plight of our clients
Compensation and Benefits
Potential salary range is $75,000 to 125,000 (or higher) depending on experience. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors.
Discretionary bonuses are available to full-time employees. Benefits include paid holidays and vacation / PTO, certain organization / bar dues, pre-approved CLEs, access to health insurance, and 401(k) retirement after one year.
Short-term disability, long-term disability, life, and accident insurance benefits are also available.
