Transportation Specialist III

Hours : 8 hours per day
8 hours per day
5 days per week
220 days per year
Salary :
Class III starting at $24.27 per hour
Wage placement based on similar experience
Required Experience :
- High School graduate, college preferred
- 2+ years experience in an office setting
- Excellent customer service skills
- High level of computer proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access), Gmail, web based applications
- Ability to contribute in a fast-paced environment
- Background in school bus or other transportation systems is preferred
- Experience with VersaTrans or other routing software is preferred
- Clean driving record
- Able to obtain CDL
Responsibilities :
- Provide exceptional telephone, email and walk-in service to students, parents, teachers, administrators, out-of-district contacts, and the public.
- Resolve customer issues, or refer to appropriate department or supervisor.
- Promptly and effectively communicate necessary information with students, parents, programs, schools, drivers, assistants, student services, and other district personnel.
- Maintain a high level of support to bus drivers and assistants.
- Be part of a cooperative work environment that includes all Transportation Center staff.
- Inform department leads, supervisors, or director, of issues and concerns.
- Provide clerical support for members of the transportation team as directed by you supervisor.
- Drive a school bus or van as needed - paid training provided.
- First review of progress towards endorsements in the first 30 days from hire date.
- Second review of progress towards CDL license in the first 90 days from hire date.
- License ideally obtained within the first 6 months from hire date.
