SUMMARY : The Mortgage Loan Officer plays an important role by performing various activities related to the Bank’s residential loan origination functions.
The role is primarily responsible, under intermittent supervision, for fostering quality relationships with realtors, internal private bankers, and borrowers while completing the origination processing of loan applications, gathering initial documentation, and reviewing files for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to all guidelines.
Performs other related duties as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote the Bank’s competitive mortgage products, services, and programs.
- Render exemplary customer service while acting as the primary contact for clients and realtors.
- Identify the current and future needs of your clients to help them protect their financial assets.
- Deliver answers to questions relating to the client's application for all parties concerned.
- Ensure that all timelines are met and communicated to all parties concerned.
- Gather and review necessary application loan documentation.
- Address and resolve issues to ensure timely closing.
- Comply with industry regulatory policies.
- Participate in business-generating activities.
- Stay abreast of industry trends; serve as a knowledge source for clients and realtors regarding available loan programs and guidelines.
- Maintain standards for production and quality.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance; minimum five years of residential lending experience including portfolio management and business development;
or equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
- Product knowledge and understanding of the mortgage business. Understand all compliance requirements having to do with FHLMC, FNMA, and Jumbo guidelines.
- Flexible and adaptable, learns and reacts quickly in a fast-paced environment, able to multi-task. Proven recent history of meeting loan production requirements.
Proven ability to maximize sales through established industry contacts and Center of Influence (COI) relationships.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office products.
