Job Summary
The research communication specialist is responsible for planning, developing and implementing communications within Sanford Research.
This role is also expected to support and deliver external research communications in collaboration with internal stakeholders where appropriate.
Responsible for the effective delivery of communication programs through a wide range of mediums to inform and engage. Will be the point person and will lead the planning, organization and coordination of communication for specific departments and initiatives within Sanford Research.
Will assist and participate in a variety of communications with, and intended for, external stakeholders. Develops communications tactics including email, video, social media, and intranet.
Fosters and develops relationships with key stakeholders within Sanford Health, and participates in a variety of meetings with external stakeholders to assist with creation of communication assets.
Routes content to internal stakeholders for review and approval. Delivers content while adhering to established deadlines using a variety of technologies including intranet, email, social media, and mobile applications.
Creates simple, clear and effective communication assets. Partners with the creative team in Sanford Health's marketing division to add visual, video and animation elements to communications where appropriate.
Creates and maintains positive working relationships with partners and stakeholders to understand priorities and needs. Prepares finalized communications content in an appropriate format for final approval from direct manager.
Effective time management and prioritization skills with the ability to manage workload with little direction.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a specialized discipline such as Advertising, Media and Digital Media, Organizational Communication, Strategic Communication, Scientific & Healthcare Communications, etc.
1-3 years in a professional communications capacity is preferred, but not required. Experience with scientific or medical communications is a positive.
