The Mercer University School of Engineering (MUSE) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Computer Engineering starting August 2024.
Responsibilities :
Candidates are sought to enhance the Department’s focus on emerging technologies in Computer Engineering, particularly with expertise, scholarly interest, and an excellent capacity for teaching and research in all areas within Computer Engineering, such as digital systems design, microprocessors, embedded systems, circuits, computer architecture, high-performance computing, or other emerging fields in computer engineering.
The successful candidate for the position must be able and willing to teach computer engineering courses at the undergraduate level and occasionally at the graduate level as necessary.
Tenure will be based on excellent teaching, research, scholarly publications and service work.
Qualifications :
A minimum of an earned Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or a related discipline is required (or evidence that the Ph.D. will be complete by August 2024).
Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college level and consulting or industrial experience.
Experience with professional organizations such as ABET, ASEE, IEEE, etc., is highly desirable. Rank will be determined based on the credentials of the selected candidate.

Mercer’s undergraduate engineering program is ABET / EAC accredited using a core curriculum model. The School of Engineering offers both Bachelor and Master of Science in Engineering degrees with specializations in biomedical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental, industrial, and mechanical as well as engineering-related programs in cyber systems, technical communications, and industrial management.
The undergraduate curriculum is dynamic, innovative, broadly based, and includes the option of an integrated BSE / MSE degree program for qualified candidates.
Total engineering enrollment is over 750 students.
