Illuminate USA, a new standalone joint venture established by two global leaders in renewable energy, is building one of the largest solar panel manufacturing factories in the Western Hemisphere.
This 1.1 million-square-foot factory is currently in the advanced stages of completion in the Columbus, Ohio area. Illuminate USA is seeking highly motivated team members to help the company grow from a startup to a full-scale, industry-leading manufacturer with $1B - $2B expected annual revenue and over 1,200 employees in less than two years.

Job Summary :
As the Payroll Leader at Illuminate USA, you will play a pivotal role in leading the payroll function within our organization.
Leveraging your expertise in payroll processing, timekeeping management, benefits administration, and tax compliance, you will contribute to the success of our company.
Responsible for overseeing the management, development, and daily operations of a team of payroll professionals to deliver payroll service to the organization.

Responsibilities :
- Accountable for the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll on a bi-weekly or semi-monthly basis.
- Ensure precise calculations of hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
- Supervise and review employee timekeeping records for accuracy and compliance with company policies and labor laws.
- Collaborate with HR and benefits teams to manage and update employee benefits data related to payroll.
- Ensure the accurate calculation and timely remittance of payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local deductions.
- Maintain organized and confidential payroll records, including earnings, deductions, and changes to employee information.
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors promptly.
- Oversee the payroll processes for new hires and ensure proper procedures for employee terminations.
- Prepare insightful payroll-related reports for management, finance, and HR teams, contributing to effective labor cost management and budgeting.
- Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, ensuring that payroll processes align with legal requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries, resolving issues in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Leader or in a similar managerial role, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and manage a payroll team effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and maintain data security.
- Thorough understanding of payroll procedures, tax regulations, compliance requirements, and relevant labor laws.
- Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy.
- Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) (Workday), timekeeping systems, and strong Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, and startup environment where a high degree of flexibility is required.
- Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.
