Job Description : Associate Family Law Litigation Attorney, Bi-lingual Location : Miami, FL Position Overview : We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mid-Level Family Law Litigation Attorney who is bilingual to join our growing family law firm.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of civil litigation experience, with a strong preference for candidates who also have 3 years of family law, divorce, and domestic violence experience.
This role requires a skilled litigation attorney who can handle a diverse, but non-complex litigation caseload, provide strategic legal advice, and contribute to our firm’s success.
Responsibilities : Case Management :
- Manage and handle, from inception to final judgment, a caseload of litigation family law matters, including divorce (child custody, child support, alimony, and property division), Paternity, Domestic Violence, Name Changes, and Step Parent Adoptions..
- Develop and implement case strategies, prepare legal documents, and represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and depositions.
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements.
- Analyze financials for Equitable Distribution, Child Support and Alimony claims.
- Research substantive, procedural, and evidentiary matters for the procedure and substantive matters that arise.
- Must be able to work independently on caseload with paralegal and legal assistants.
- Must be a respectable, kind, and contributing A-rated team player to excel in the firm.
- Must be able to understand, develop and execute in all areas of family law litigation, including Discovery.
- Must be able to work with our CMS, and workflows and work within your position to grow the firm to our high standards. Client Interaction :
- Meet with clients to discuss case strategy and planning, case details, provide legal advice, and set expectations.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to update them on case progress and address their concerns. Court Representation :
- Represent clients in family and domestic violence court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Prepare and present arguments, case law, evidence, and witnesses in court. Legal Research & Writing :
- Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategies.
- Prepare and file legal briefs, motions, and other documents as required. Collaboration & Teamwork :
- Work closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective case management.
- Participate in firm meetings and contribute to team efforts in achieving firm goals. Professional Development :
- Stay current with developments in family law and civil litigation.
- Attend continuing legal education (CLE) seminars and workshops to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
- Use of technology within our firm. Qualifications : Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Florida State Bar.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation, with at least 3 years of family law experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of family law principles, procedures, and court rules.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload and handle complex legal issues.
- Exceptional communication and client-interaction skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Russian, helpful Desired Skills :
- Substantive knowledge of family law and domestic violence laws and procedures .
- Familiarity with family law mediation and negotiation techniques.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Research and writing skills
