Summary of Work
This position is a resource for The Office of State Tax Commissioner to research and provide historical reporting and fiscal estimates related to agency revenue collections and legislative driven data requests.
The position is within the Fiscal Management Division and supports the various functions of the division.
The Duties include :
- Analyze, interpret and track data related to tax collections to provide statistical information to various state agencies, councils, political subdivisions, committees, and taxpayers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements, understand data needs, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives to develop and produce applicable reports.
- Project fiscal impacts to revenue collections specific to current tax legislation and legislative proposals.
- Analyze proposed tax legislation and determine fiscal impact.
- Work directly with Revenue Accountant to track collected tax revenues, process month end, complete certifications, and provide back up to Revenue Accountant.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties consistent with the degree of difficulty and level of responsibility assigned to this position;
the knowledge, skills, and abilities required; and the nature of the work assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Public Administration, Management, Data Science or closely related field as determined by the agency;
OR four years of experience in accounting, data collections, or any other quantitative field; OR a combination of education and experience as described above totaling at least four years.
