Salary Range : $130,000 - $150,000 per year benefits, PTO, Holiday and 401k

Our client is a well-established Engineering firm with projects throughout the Southeast US

Description :

We are looking for a Lead Drainage Engineer with extensive experience in drainage design for transportation projects . The ideal candidate will serve as the Engineer-of-Record (EOR) and will be responsible for managing the full project life cycle, from design to post-construction.

This role requires strong leadership to guide a team of engineers, as well as technical expertise in hydraulic modeling and stormwater management systems .

Experience with DOT projects is highly preferred, particularly in FDOT standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Serve as the Engineer-of-Record for drainage design on complex transportation projects.
• Oversee and manage all project phases, coordinating with internal discipline leaders, subconsultants, and clients.
• Provide technical guidance, quality control, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Develop and lead internal and external drainage training sessions.
• Participate in marketing efforts, preparing presentations and fee proposals, and negotiating with clients.
• Manage the design of stormwater management systems, pipe hydraulics, and hydraulic modeling using tools such as GEOPAK Drainage , HEC-RAS , StormCAD , and others.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
• Minimum of 10 years of drainage design experience , preferably with FDOT or other DOT agencies.
• Strong proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD and drainage modeling software.
• Excellent leadership, technical writing, and communication skills.
• Proven experience in business development and client relationship management.
