We strive to foster an environment you can thrive in through our commitment to diversity, inclusion and belonging.OverviewThe Certified Electrician 2 will provide electrical expertise to lead the installation of residential solar systems and batteries to ensure conformance to existing national and local building codes.

The Certified Electrician 2 also performs and trains others on a variety of electrical work including main panel upgrades, electrical troubleshooting and service work.

This position will also work with the PV installation crew, filling in and performing other duties when necessary, including leading the crew in the absence of the Foreman.

The Certified Electrician 2 is required to possess and maintain a valid Journeyman License / Electrician Certification or equivalent per local and state requirements.

ResponsibilitiesLead the installation of electrical systems that interconnect our solar array to the grid power of our customer’s residential propertyEnsure work performed by all electricians is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codesComplete solar battery installations as assignedTroubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issuesSafely plan and complete main panel upgrades (MPU)Work with branch team and home owners to fulfill any necessary system upgrades / repairs to support our solar equipmentMentor others to enhance their overall electrical skillsTrain on Sunrun established best practices as well as prepare team members for future positions at SunrunWork cross-functionally with license holders, AHJ inspectors, and crew members to serve as a subject matter expert on electrical workSolve for recurring quality issues and failed inspections to increase the installation pass rateElectrical Coaching and Leadership : Facilitates advancement of electrical skills and knowledge in others by providing clear, specific performance feedback, and by making suggestions for improvement in a manner that builds confidence and maintains self-esteemSafety : Adheres to company safety policies and procedures including ability to identify and report safety hazards, and the ability to encourage others to work safelyTakes ownership of issues or questions and will escalate problems to the appropriate persons and follow up accordingly with the customerAdditional duties assigned as needed100% travel requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 1 year solar electrical installation and repair experience requiredExperience with electrical work involving wiring up to 1000 VDC and 480 VACWorking knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels requiredAbility to proficiently perform the job duties of a Certified Electrician 1Must possess a valid Journeyman License / Electrician Certification or equivalent per local and state requirements, e.
