Revenue Cycle Reimbursement Specialist
About the Role :
The Revenue Cycle Reimbursement Specialist is responsible for managing day-to-day operations within the healthcare Revenue Integrity Program.
This role is crucial in ensuring that healthcare providers receive appropriate reimbursement for services rendered. The specialist will work closely with payers and healthcare clients to validate and appeal underpayments, ensuring the integrity of the revenue cycle.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
Day-to-Day Operations : Execute daily activities related to the healthcare Revenue Integrity Program.
Reimbursement Processing : Contact respective payers to process additional reimbursement for underpayments.
Validation : Validate the explanations for underpayments and take necessary actions.
Appeal Generation : Generate appeals for underpayments and forward them to the Project Coordinator for approval.
Client Interaction : Interact with appointed contacts at healthcare clients to discuss and resolve reimbursement issues.
Follow-Up : Continuously follow up on underpayments per scheduled daily activities until additional reimbursement is received.
Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare profession or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Education : A degree in a related field is preferred; however, equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
Skills : Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and payers.
Attributes : Detail-oriented, proactive in follow-up activities, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Pay Disclosure :
The pay range for this position starts at $41,000.00 Annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Bonus opportunities may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
