The Mathematics and Statistics departments serves more than 9,800 students each academic year and has over 600 majors. The Undergraduate Program Administrator will be the primary point of contact for all first year Mathematics and Statistics undergraduate students and prospective students.

This role will provide transition support to those moving into mathematics & statistics majors and minors, both while already at BU and in the admissions process.

Additionally, the UPA position will be primarily responsible for cultivating a community among our undergraduate students, create and coordinate events geared towards our undergraduate student population, contribute to the online presence for the department, fostering relationships with industry affiliates, work with the Center for Career Development to co-host events for our students and manage the administrative aspect of the program assessment.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Ability to multitask and work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or education in advising or counseling
  • Experience in organizing events
  • Knowledge of the academic landscape for STEM fields
