Position Description :
The Laser Operator is responsible for producing parts efficiently and effectively by operating CNC 5-axis lasers.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Perform tooling setup per work instructions
- Load / unload parts onto fixtures and operate 5-axis laser machine
- Inspect completed parts using micrometers, indicators, calipers, comparators, etc.
- Perform maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work areas
- Perform machine alignment procedures to ensure peak operating performance
- Maintain quality standards through understanding of the Quality Management System
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisor, and other staff
- Other duties as directed by supervisor
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED required
- Working knowledge of CO2 and Fiber laser equipment, tooling, and processes
- Knowledge of G&M codes
- Attention to detail and ability to deal with complex part geometry
- Ability to read blueprints and use various inspection equipment
- Experience in sheet metal or machining environment a plus
- Willing to train individuals that can run CNC equipment and have a knowledge of programming
