As an Electrical Engineer in the WHOOP Hardware team, you will work with teams that are committed to delivering an extraordinary product experience to our members, comprised of Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Software teams.
You will work on designing test setups to validate highly integrated human performance optimization products, including test PCBA development and Python script development.
You will develop test plans and execute them. You will grow towards building test architectures to enable consistently strong test design.
You are familiar with electrical concepts and best practices and have good communication skills for cross collaboration.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Evaluate overall system design by crafting and conducting evaluation tests; applying knowledge of engineering fundamentals
- Schematic capture and PCB layout of electrical circuits using CAD and simulation tools such as Altium and SPICE
- Prototyping, debugging, and analysis using standard lab equipment and techniques
- Support testing for research and development of next generation technologies, manufacturing techniques, and concepts
- Work towards closing potential test gaps by crafting automation scripts in a maintainable, reproducible fashion
- Document tests and test setups with an eye towards reproducibility and communicating results
- Up to 15% travel domestically and internationally to partners, suppliers, and contract manufacturers
QUALIFICATIONS :
- BS or greater in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 0-5 years experience in relevant fields
- Electrical engineering fundamentals including circuit design, component fundamentals, & digital communication protocols
- Experience with scripting (Python, and related Python package management tools (conda, pip, pyenv)) and version control (Git)
- Developed automated test and measurement systems - Setup of environments optimized for test measurement
- Lab experience including soldering and the use of multimeters, oscilloscopes, SMUs, VNA’s, impedance analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and similar equipment
- Basic experience in schematic capture, layout design and review & familiarity with ECAD tools such as Altium
- Problem solving and analytical skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Familiarity with common statistical tools and tests for experiments
- Experience with prototype hardware and / or development boards
