Regional Manager
PRIMARY PURPOSE : Responsible for business planning, and financial performance of an assigned group of retail branches in a designated area or region (South and Eastern Twin Cities).
Responsible for the overall achievement of sales goals, region & branch profitability, member service and operational integrity.
Provide ongoing support for branch network by providing one on one coaching and guidance to branch managers and various branch personnel.
This encompasses retail, small business relationships, and community business development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Build and develop a positive, engaged, high performing team by mentoring and coaching Branch Managers to be successful coaches / leaders that consistently deliver an exceptional member experience while following identified processes.
- Ensure sales objectives are being met by individual branches, utilizing sales benchmarks and sales reporting tools as a resource for coaching and accountability.
Ensure staff receive proper training to demonstrate abilities to sell and cross-sell to reach individual and team sales goals.
Conduct weekly scheduled branch observations (annual out of state branch visits). Utilize observations as tool to identify areas of strength for recognition or areas of opportunity for coaching and development.
Identify operational inefficiencies and follow through with resolution.
- Lead weekly scheduled meetings and maintain a high level of communication within the region and direct reports.
- Design, review and evaluate regular reports of branch activities, including staffing, loans, deposits, overdrafts, charge-offs, and audits to meet profit and performance objectives.
- Developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth, increase market share, enhance customer satisfaction, achieve scorecard metrics and ensure operational integrity.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
- Represent Wings in community events and networking activities to promote brand awareness and build relationships.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures across all branches.
- Monitoring financial performance, including branch profitability, loan portfolios, and deposit growth, and taking corrective actions as needed.
- Resolve personnel problems, working with Human Resources Business Partner to ensure resolution within established procedures and guidelines.
- Evaluate Branch Managers performance on a constant basis, providing counseling, guidance, and support as needed. Annually prepare formal written performance appraisals in an honest and impartial manner, recommending salary increases and promotions as appropriate.
- Handle escalated member issues and complaints and ensuring timely resolution.
- Understand and communicate various types of loan and deposit products. Communicate key mortgage product features including LTV, discount points and rate bumps, escrows, mortgage insurance, etc.
- Assist branches with loan process, evaluating applications and approving or rejecting according to assigned authority.
- Interview and hire employees who demonstrate exceptional sales and quality service skills.
- Work with the Vice President of Retail Delivery in establishing annual budget.
- Actively participate in management and committee meetings.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Directly supervises up to 10 Branch Managers in multiple states. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and provide training to employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Q UALIFICATIONS :
- 5-7 years retail bank experience.
- 3-5 years management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, direct and motivate others to action through recognition and rewards.
- Proven sales leadership skills : ability to evaluate individual strengths and weaknesses and utilize coaching and counseling skills.
- Knowledge of credit union products, policies, and procedures and of federal rules and regulations.
- Ability and desire to maintain quality of service while performing multiple tasks.
- Ability to gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
- Proven ability to develop, set and communicate measurable goals.
- Ability to analyze problems, formulate and implement solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Position involves contact with the public, necessitating the ability to present a professional image.
- Working knowledge of computer software (i.e. Windows, Microsoft Office).
- Flexibility in scheduling. Requires regular local travel between branches. May require some out state travel (up to 10%-15%).
- Effective in a variety of communication settings : one-on-one, small, and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels.
- Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to interact well, and in a positive manner, with subordinates, peers and upper management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT : Job requires travel from branch to branch. 75% travel / 25% office. Wings Financial Credit Union requires employees who drive their personal or a company vehicle in the routine performance of their jobs to have a valid Driver’s License.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit.
