Job Title : German Language Immersion Teacher (K-5)
South Academy of International Languages is seeking an elementary school teacher who is devoted to the growth of students, passionate about the German language and culture, and able to inspire and deliver core instruction in a transformative full immersion language environment.
Join our renowned K-8 public magnet school learning community, as a German Language Immersion Teacher. In this role, you will inspire students as you lead immersive instruction in all core subjects, including math, science, and social studies, aligning with the North Carolina Curriculum standards.
Responsibilities :
- Implement a comprehensive German language immersion curriculum for a class of elementary students that is aligned with North Carolina Curriculum standards.
- Deliver engaging, student-centered, and language-rich lessons across core subjects to facilitate language acquisition.
- Embrace a diverse range of students, inspiring growth in ALL regardless of ability or personal background.
- Collaborate closely with grade-level colleagues teaching in other target languages (French, Chinese, and Japanese), as well as French language immersion colleagues in grades K-5 to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
- Effectively communicate and engage with parents, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Fluency in German, Familiarity with German Culture
- Prior teaching experience required; elementary teaching certification preferred.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and parents.
- Willingness to pursue teaching certification if not already certified.
