As part of this remarkable journey, we are looking for a Purchasing Manager.

The job

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing the local procurement team as well as participating in developing regional and global innovative solutions for the sourcing processes, proactively develop and identify in new purchasing opportunities to support group business strategies and objectives by delivering in accordance to agreed KPI s and priorities.

You will report to the President of Haarslev, Inc and be a part of the Operations team in North America.

Primary responsibilities :

Duties, responsibilities, budgets, deliverables etc.

• Manage the local Procurement team, consisting of Strategic Sourcing and Operational Purchasing.
• Supplier responsible for regional suppliers and coordination / support of establishing Global Agreements with the Global Category Managers.
• Be responsible for regional Supplier Development, Qualification & Management.
• Participate in developing regional and global innovative solutions for the sourcing processes, proactively develop and identify in new purchasing opportunities to support group business strategies and objectives by delivering in accordance to agreed KPI s and priorities.
• Be an active part of the Global Procurement team by being open, honest, strait forward, prepared and meet agreed targets, deliveries and responsibilities
• Enforce a one company culture with a customer and supplier mindset
• Drive structured cost reduction activities involving suppliers as well as relevant internal stakeholders globally, as well as supporting minimizing stocks levels through appropriate MOQ s, lead time and throughput time and cost.

Primary areas of focus :

Key tasks (state percentage distribution in parenthesis), number of travelling days

• Oversee and responsible for the daily purchasing activities, supporting delivery in accordance to agreed delivery dates and in accordance with the agreed specifications etc.
• Ensure regional use of agreed processes and templates, such as Request for Quote (RFQ), Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), GPA etc.

Directly lead the development and qualification of sources to support the regional and global needs for supplies, components and services at the most cost-effective level while monitoring and ensuring that supplier quality and service remains consistently high.

• Work closely with global purchasing team to explore and validate new sourcing opportunities from North America and as a part of a global Procurement team, manage negotiations and relationships with regional suppliers, as well as regional subsidiaries of global supplier, while supporting continuous improvement in terms of Quality, appropriate lead times, VMI options when relevant etc.
• Support the development and implementation of structured supplier qualification and conduction frequent meetings with as a minimum, the regional Preferred suppliers to ensure continued improvements within OTD, quality, cost, payment terms etc.
• Negotiate regional Frame Agreements, including Terms & Conditions, with regional suppliers.
• Setting and meeting regional agreed targets, including reporting on progress.
• Support development of and ensure global implementation of policies and processes for the department.
• Develop and sustain appropriate and value generating supplier relations and strong cooperation with internal stakeholders.
• Continuously build and maintain a supplier base which will support Haarslev for current and future needs, in regard to cost competitiveness, quality and delivery performance, manufacturing footprint etc.
• Drive and ensure facts based total cost decisions for all procurement decisions, equally for regional or global negotiations.
• Participate and support to internal projects.

Relevant experience, knowledge and skills

• At least 5 years of Procurement experience in multinational company.
• Leading a team or management experience is required.
• Excellent communications skills, written and verbal.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good coordination skill within multi-function teams.
• Experience working in a matrix organization and ideally with managerial skills.
• Preferred personal characteristics
