Under the general supervision of the Manager of Linehaul, the Field Central Dispatcher assigns motor vehicles and drivers to meet daily manpower and transportation for conveyance of freight.

Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient utilization of drivers and equipment.
- Assign motor vehicles and drivers to meet daily manpower and transportation for conveyance of freight.
- Compile a list of available vehicles and assign vehicles.
- Record driver staffing requirements for runs.
- Prepare list of extra drivers available for assignment for regular or special trips.
- Accurate, timely entry of all line haul movement on the AS400 computer system both company and purchase transportation.
- Coordinate with dock operations for planning and timely movement of intermodal and purchase transportation loads.
- Responsible for transmittal of load tenders and informational transfer to and with purchase transportation and intermodal providers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 1 year transportation experience
- Dispatch experience
- Knowledge of AS400
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
