SUMMARY

We are seeking a personable, detail-oriented, and organized hospitality or real estate professional who has a passion for both people and numbers.

Building upon an understanding of the hotel business and operations, the day-to-day role would involve conducting thorough research and financial analysis for various types of hotels and other hospitality-related assets.

Specifically, the analyst will conduct research and interviews to understand the local market, conduct a supply and demand analysis, prepare revenue and expense forecasts, and use models to derive a value under supervision.

The analyst will also maintain the property database with sale and lease comparables, as well as help prepare appraisal reports with assistance from senior valuation professionals.

Job Location

The job location is flexible and can include a remote location after a recommended period of in-office training for three to six .

RESPONSABILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Perform property inspections and interview subject property management, with field research and travel as necessary
  • Conduct detailed market research and analysis to understand supply and demand trends, as well as competitive positioning of assets
  • Gather pertinent factors regarding the subject property
  • Analyze historical financial performance
  • Utilize market and subject information to forecast future performance
  • Enter and maintain a database of competitive hotels, revenue & expense comparables, and hotel sales
  • Value real estate assets under proper supervision
  • Take professional education classes towards appraisal licensure
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for clients and senior leadership
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant appraisal standards, regulations, client policies, and company procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year university. Preferred (but not required) majors would include : Real Estate, Finance Hospitality Management, or a related field
  • Hospitality operations experience and / or real estate experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to self-manage multiple projects at once in an organized fashion
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with a proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills, proficient PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to work within a team and build industry relationships

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to travel to asset tours
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone and via emails
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen
