Position Description

You will manage purchased part inventory, supplies and logistics to assure that our daily production schedules are maintained.

SAP and other resources are used to track requirements and work with our suppliers allowing on time delivery of components, thus timely shipping performance to the customer.

You will have the freedom to make decisions and job performance is important to the daily operation of our plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will report directly to the Materials Supervisor and purchase of productive and non-productive supplies from established supplier base and controlling inventory and associated costs.
  • Will analyze all purchased item requirements from MRP which defines all current and future demand. Will fulfill demand through use of scheduling agreement purchase orders, blanket purchase orders, and discrete purchase orders.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers and be in communication with them. Once approval has been obtained you will order parts using approved suppliers regarding the specification, quantities, pricing, due dates and the shipping information.
  • Work directly with our Materials Supervisor on plant capacities, due dates, changes, and supplier requests daily, and then follow up with suppliers on issues that might arise.
  • Help develop a materials strategy that meets the established inventory targets.Raw Material InventoryDefined homes for parts and storage bins
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy and works with production on a strategy to meet changing demands. Also responsible for the following job tasks : Maintains purchasing recordsVisually manage expensed or bulk items for purchaseCompile, submit, and communicate all changes in purchasing item documentation affecting the suppliers.

Disposition of non-conforming materials and obsolete materials.Complete ECR (Engineering Change Request) as required for purchased items.

Actively involved with cycle counts and physical inventory.Do other jobs as required to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.

Generate Ideas for OH Cost Reduction(Indirect Purchases).

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Require bachelor's degree in Business or related field. 3+ years' experience preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word experience required.
