Position Summary :

Under the leadership of the Early Talent Program Manager, the HR Specialist / Admin assists with coordination and administration of the Early Talent Programs.

This position assists the Early Talent Program Ambassadors and Mill HR with the coordination of college recruiting, training events, conferences, and other items as needed.

The Early Talent Program HR Specialist / Admin is an integral part of the efforts to hire, prepare, and train university students for co-ops / internships or recent college graduates for full-time positions in PCA’s Early Talent Program.

This position is required to understand the importance of compliance as a federal contractor and to ensure he / she is striving for diversity and fairness in our hiring process.

Principle Accountabilities :

  • Supportthe Early Talent Program Manager by collaborating with key stakeholders within PCA as well as externally at colleges and universities in support of the Early Talent Program strategy.
  • Assist Early Talent Program Ambassadors, Early Talent Program Manager, and / or Mill HR with monitoring assigned Dayforce job requisitions for applicants, identify qualified candidates, schedule and complete pre-screen interviews, and forward candidate information to assigned requisition recruiter.
  • Post Early Talent Program positions to Handshake, Symplicity, or other job boards as needed.
  • Create Handshake campaigns for Early Talent Program job postings, career fairs, and other events to foster communication with university students.
  • Assist with scheduling of on-site interviews, interview travel expense reimbursement, pre-hire paperwork, and onboarding as needed.
  • Assist with planning for internal offsite training / conferences / events for the Early Talent Program (Mill Engineering Meeting, GIFT Conferences, and / or POE Conferences) as assigned.
  • Monitors and tracks program data.
  • As requested, attend recruiting efforts at universities and colleges for engineering co-ops, interns, and full-time graduating students, and represent PCA professionally at various events and networking functions.
  • When requested to attend, represent PCA professionally at various university events including career fairs, interviewing days, club meetings, and other networking functions.
  • Assist in PCA’s good faith outreach efforts with on campus student organizations.
  • Support the Early Talent Program Manager in philanthropic events and programs that promote PCA.
  • Travel to mills, box plants, and universities as needed throughout the year.
  • Additional duties as assigned by manager.
  • Know and follow policies and procedures of the company, share information that would benefit other members of the team and find ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers

Position Requirements :

  • Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Engineering. Other degrees may be considered based on experience.
  • Previous experience with recruiting and interviewing of early career talent is preferred.
  • Ability to work well within a dispersed, cross functional team.
  • Self-starter attitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to network and build relationships with individuals of various experiences and professional levels both within and outside of the company.
  • Solid working knowledge of PC applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Strong listening, evaluating, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create alternative solutions and meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience working in a team environment is preferred, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing among colleagues.
  • Independent and able to manage time with little to no direction.
  • Must be able to travel as necessary and possess valid documents for travel via air and car.
