Middle School Learning Specialist : Long Term Substitute

Episcopal Academy is looking to hire a Middle School Learning Specialist as a long term sub beginning in Decemeber 2024.

The Learning Specialist is a key member of the division's student support team, providing well-designed, caring, and thoughtful learning support for students needing assistance as they navigate EA's rigorous academic program.

This includes manages testing reports, oversees student learning plans, accommodations and support, while also managing a caseload of about 20-30 students.

About You

Successful candidates for this position will :

  • Have a track record of helping students develop learning skills that allow them to succeed in a challenging academic program.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of cognition, learning, and intervention approaches.
  • Have a deep understanding of the educational testing process and the ability to interpret psychoeducational evaluations and reports.
  • Have experience with a wide range of pedagogies, strategies, and systems that can help middle school students succeed.
  • Be collaborative in nature, seeking ways to partner with teachers, families, and others to support student learning and growth.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a positive and proactive communication style.
  • Support classroom teachers in differentiating instruction.
  • Have the expertise and experience to develop and implement occasional workshops related to academic support that can help both students and teachers grow.
