Overview
E2 is looking for an Engineering Manager for our distribution department to join our team in Portland or Salt Lake City area to support several major electric utility clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, designers, and drafters in developing and preparing Distribution Line projects including, but not limited to routing and design of overhead and underground projects.
The position will work under the direction of the VP of Engineering Services.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians to produce deliverables on diverse and challenging Distribution OH & UG Line projects.
- Manage the execution of multiple distribution line projects and will coordinate with multiple internal and external departments to manage the life cycle of project execution.
- Support business development, client interactions, project execution and proposals.
- Take ownership of all aspects of project performance including quality, safety, schedule, budget, reporting and client experience through entire project lifecycle.
- Responsible for project execution, contract administration, planning and resource management.
- Manage and direct the project team to ensure accountability as well as mentor and coach team members.
- Consistently and independently applies knowledge and complies with E2’s quality program relative to assigned tasks.
- Communicate and coordinate project activities with the project manager, client, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Review lower-level engineering work or assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in project management of utility distribution line projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical transmission system (4kV through 34.5kV).
- Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain registration.
- Relevant experience is either working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company performing design engineering, and leading teams.
- Experience with PLS-CADD Software.
- Experience with SDG&E strongly preferred.
