The Parry Center for Clinical Skills and Simulation at the USD Sanford School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Standardized Patient Program Coordinator / Educator.

• Responsibilities include Recruiting, training, and supervising individuals who function as standardized patients; preparing scenarios, checklists, evaluations, schedules, and room assignments;
• supervising the training of standardized patients in case portrayal; maintaining databases of standardized patient information and cases;

managing work records and payroll; operating within a budget and anticipating budget changes; and consulting with Center director and faculty in various departments on their needs for course development and standardized patient programs.

Other responsibilities include : Performing data analysis and report writing assistance; assisting with accreditation preparation and monitoring;

collaborating to design promotional materials; administering surveys; and assisting with the preparation and take down of simulation activities, educating clinical and academic faculty about best practices of teaching with the use of standardized patients.

The position requires the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form, and the ability to problem solve and plan for future activities.

A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Preference will be given to individuals with a medical background and / or experience with theater.
