Job Description
The Fitness Manager (FM) owns the success of fitness programs, studios, and staff within their assigned club(s) by building a skillful team of fitness professionals and offering well-rounded fitness programming that is effective and appealing to a diverse membership base.
As the club Fitness ambassador, the FM is a multi-formatted, knowledgeable resource to staff and members at Chuze.
This position requires strong interpersonal skills, sound fitness industry knowledge, and the ability to handle administrative duties with attention to detail.
The FM role is perfect for a dynamic leader ready to attract and engage new members in fitness services and elevate our club to new heights.
Pay range : $44,400 - $55,500 / year
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Foster professional relationships with the team by being present during classes, facilitating events, leading meetings and training, and maintaining a strong team by recruiting and onboarding new Fitness talent
- Attend scheduled district and company-wide meetings, preparing presentation materials as needed
- Lead and influence Fitness Pros to go above and beyond Chuze standards
- Cultivate strong, professional rapport with members and establish community through positive interactions, managing member concerns with proficient conflict resolution
- Complete all onboarding and training materials before teaching and coaching, ensuring that you and the team maintain knowledge of all Chuze policies
- Participate in ongoing fitness industry education and maintain current credentials
- Establish and maintain strong cross-departmental relationships through communication and teamwork with the Operations and Maintenance staff to effectively meet member and facility needs
- Promote consistent participation in all Fitness offerings and classes at Chuze
- Utilize the Fitness Communication Platform for essential communications, approving posted sub-requests, monitoring compliance, and sharing company updates
- Build an effective class schedule for the club and secure timely approval of Payroll cycles
- Analyze current Chuze practices and programming, identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiencies
- Provide sub coverage, if needed, to prevent class cancellations
- Maintain an understanding of current Key Performance Objectives (KPOs) using reporting, ensuring standards are met for club evaluations, budgets, and programming decisions
- Conduct on-the-spot feedback and the full scope of corrective actions as needed, draft and deliver coaching documents and performance reviews, fostering a culture of continuous growth

Qualifications
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 1+ years of management experience or equivalent industry work
- 2+ years experience as a Fitness Professional with current certification (NASM, NSCA, or ACSM)
- Current CPR / AED certification (or obtain within the first 60 days of employment)
- Capacity to lead and motivate a large group with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and build trust from others
- Organized, accountable, and able to set, prioritize, and reach goals in a fast-paced environment
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong computer and technology skills with the ability to operate basic Audio / Visual equipment
- Team-based mindset with the capacity to receive and deliver constructive feedback
- Essential Physical Requirements :
- Read, write, and speak clearly in English
- Sitting or standing for long periods
- Leading and performing high-intensity workouts
- Repetitive wrist, hand, and / or finger movements
- Typing and computer operations
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree or currently continuing education (preferred)
