Position Description : Our San Francisco or Sacramento office is currently seeking a Proposal Specialist for its award-winning marketing department.

This position supports all on proposal and qualifications productions, primarily focused on our Northern California pursuits.

Ideal Candidate : We are looking for an individual who can work collaboratively as well as solve problems independently and can balance creativity with detailed tactical execution.

Compensation : The pay rate for this position generally ranges between $66,000 and $118,000 per year. This range is a good faith estimate pursuant to pay transparency laws.

Actual pay rates will be based on various factors, including company geographic differentials, education level, and candidate qualifications.

Job Summary :

The Proposal Specialist will assist the Business Development Managers in the creation and production of proposals and marketing materials (resumes, firm experience, etc.

that support our business development activities, as well as play an active role in maintaining and improving the organization and maintenance of those materials.

Roles / Responsibilities

• Work directly with Project Managers to write, proofread, edit and produce proposals, brochures, direct mail, press releases, articles, newsletters, web copy and other original content.
• Maintain and update standard marketing materials (resumes, project pages, standard proposal sections, etc...).
• Maintain, update and improve marketing database systems.
• Maintain and update digital assets.
• Demonstrate self-initiative, positive team attitude, and strong attention to detail and quality.
• Successfully juggle multiple, competing, and deadline-driven tasks.
• Assist with client and market research projects.
• Participate in outside industry events as a firm representative.

Minimum Requirements :

• Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading and graphic design abilities.
• Passion for process improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.

Desired Requirements :

• Proficient user of Adobe Suite products (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).
• One or more years of experience in a deadline-driven environment; preferably for an architecture, engineering or construction firm.
• Experience with proposal and event management / coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully as part of a team as well as manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of customer relationship management systems.
• Four-year degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or similar degree.
• Willingness to travel. Position may require occasional driving or flying, not generally more than one day a month.
