Job Summary

The UCSF Thoracic Surgery and Oncology Clinic offers state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for lung cancer and other conditions related to the lungs, chest and esophagus.

Our team of surgeons, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists works together closely to ensure that each patient receives comprehensive care.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.

For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $80.98 - $120.66 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

The UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center in an accredited National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Required Qualifications

More than one (1) year of Physician Assistant experience in an outpatient surgical practice.

Preferred Qualifications

Five (5) years thoracic surgery Physician Assistant experience.

License / Certification

  • Active and current California Physician Assistant License (PA).
  • California driver's license (CDL) if required for position.
  • Current national board certification by first day of work and maintain.
  • Active and transferable DEA license to California and have evidence of transfer by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).
  • Complete an AAPA recognized graduate master's degree program as a physician assistant.
  • Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through the credentialing process by first clinical day.
  • Current AHA BLS.

UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day.

Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
