Teach a community health clinical course for pre-licensure nursing majors. Assume and fulfill teaching responsibilities commensurate with the position by meeting with the course lead or level coordinator regularly to discuss clinical course objectives, grading criteria, student's progress, etc.
accepting designated assignments related to clinical teaching inclusive of direct and indirect patient care assignments and supervision of virtual and simulated learning.
Additionally, clinical faculty assist in supervising students' progress, completion of clinical competency skills checklists, and a make-up clinical day within the semester;
Clinical faculty also assume responsibility for improving clinical teaching ability; and consulting with course leads or level coordinator prior to initiating changes in the clinical course syllabus.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of a sound educational program designed to meet the outcomes of the specified course and level.
- Submits grades, grade book, early alerts, Incomplete grade forms, and attendance in accordance with university policies and procedures.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Master's prepared nurse with a minimum of two years of clinical experience.
Teaching experience is preferred. Credentials of an advanced practice registered nurse with licensure with the State of Louisiana or compact RN license.
Possesses qualities of integrity, initiative, and good judgment with high ethical standards. Must have the ability to work and communicate effectively with others.
Work Conditions
Ability to work 12-hour clinical shifts in the supervision of pre-licensure BSN students.
