Position Summary :

Utilizing broad-based skills in basic patient care, ancillary services, and business office practices, provides assistance to providers in accordance with PNHS standard and policies.

Education / Experience :

Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

One or more years of experience desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).

Special Knowledge / Skills / Certifications / Licenses :

Strong clinical and human relations skills. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and maintains standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the AAMA.

Basic computer / keyboarding / mouse skills required. Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.

BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.

  • We are a group of healthcare workers who are passionate about helping children and their families with improving their health.

With a team of 13 clinicians, we see approximately - patients each day. Our clinicians consider our nursing staff as colleagues and really partner with nursing staff to take great care of our patients.

Collaborating with all members of the team is how we have continued to have good patient experience results and maintain high quality patient measures.

Our team is friendly, engaged, and we love to have fun! We even have fun events throughout the year such as holiday parties, summer picnics, and more!

  • Our family medicine department provides a wide range of services from yearly well child check-ups to acute illnesses, mental health visits, chronic disease management, immunization updates, and more! We care for children and families from all walks of life and help to provide developmental, behavioral, nutritional care, and education.
  • This position provides direct patient care and support for those patients by working directly with one or more of our clinicians.

You are expected and supported to work at the top of your training and certification by following standard rooming processes, CDC vaccine schedules, and following pre-visit planning standing orders.

  • The Role : As a part of our hall team (which is the team this position is a part of), you will be providing professional family-centered care to infants, children, adolescents and adults as delegated by a provider or RN which may include the following duties : Escorting patients to exam rooms and appropriately documenting necessary visit information such as height, weight, blood pressure, and other vitals such as temperature, oxygenation status, and heart rate using appropriate equipment.
  • Preparing and administering medications, and immunizations as directed by a clinician.Perform and assist with procedures and treatments as directed by the clinician, such as;

administering hearing / vision tests, nebulizer treatments and education,and specimen collection such as urine.Maintaining knowledge of, and complying with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards.

Clinic hours and Work Schedule : Our clinic is open to serve patients 7 : 30 am-6pm Monday Tuesday, 7 : 30 am-5pm Wednesday-Fridays, and 8am-12pm the second Saturday of each month.

For this role, the schedule is T- -, TH- -, F- - (Monday and Wednesdays off)
