As our Electrical Engineer II, you will be responsible for supporting the utility scale operations group by acting as a technical leader, ensuring the safe operation of the facilities, and collaborating across multiple disciplines by participating in design reviews.

You will provide electrical, high-voltage, collection system, and substation support to operating renewable projects. You will participate in the engineering, design, and construction review processes, including reviewing the collection system, substation, and transmission line designs.

Your field experience in troubleshooting electrical issues on high and medium voltage systems and troubleshooting solar performance will be essential.

You must be able to read drawings and understand the different components. You will coordinate with various groups within the organization on technical matters and represent the Operations function in the various stages of project design, including reviewing drawings and studies.

You will interface with various system operators, including ERCOT, PJM, SPP, and MISO, on technical issues related to operations planning and modeling.

You will lead the development and continuous improvement of commissioning, maintenance, and standard operating procedures.

Reviewing maintenance records and recommending corrective actions to ensure reliability and compliance with applicable NERC standards will be part of your responsibilities.

You will develop structured feedback sessions for all lessons learned with the project team, including misoperations, root cause analysis (Six Sigma, DMAIC, fish-bone), and safety-related events.

You should have working knowledge in one of the following areas of electrical engineering : protection and control (P&C), including all aspects of testing and troubleshooting transformer, line, bus, and feeder relaying schemes, or maintenance and diagnostic testing of high voltage apparatus, including power transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear.

Understanding the SEL suite of products, including RTAC, and having basic knowledge of SCADA networks and protocols such as MODBUS, DNP3, and any proprietary SCADA protocols, is necessary.

Additionally, you should be knowledgeable about engineering standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and utility experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of directly relevant engineering experience working with substations
  • Must have working knowledge of high and medium voltage power systems
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically / internationally up to 20% of the time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license / clean driving record; for ability to drive to site locations
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Compensation

Salary Range : $74,500 $114,195 USD annually. This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
