Description :
NVIDIA is the leading artificial intelligence computing company and are paving the way with innovations in gaming, visualization, supercomputing and self-driving cars.
The Autonomous Vehicles team is searching for an experienced test technician / engineer to support our new autonomous driving features development.
NVIDIA gives automakers, Tier 1 suppliers, automotive research institutions, and start-ups the power and flexibility to develop and deploy breakthrough artificial intelligence systems for self-driving vehicles.
As Test Technician / Engineer you will partner with the engineering and product team to come up with testing processes, test plans and execute scenarios.
The ideal candidate will also be able to go through results and effectively communicate them back to the engineering team to decipher what worked and what did not.
Some of the main products that you will work on revolve around safety features for level 2 and level 3 autonomous driving.
This includes active safety features, emergency breaking, adaptive cruise, and lane switching. Essentially, this Test Engineer will take the solution from the engineering team, come up with the test cases and implement these effectively to analyze the results and communicate to engineers and product professionals what could have been fixed, mitigated, or made better.
You will be working cross functionally across different products simultaneously, meaning that the ability to truly jump into the context of testing is integral for this role.
A test engineer who has specific and narrow expertise will not succeed in the ambiguity that encompasses this role. While starting out on the level 2 features, after ramping up in the role, you will focus heavily on level 3 issues.
Please note that this role requires you to physically sit in the car throughout the day to run tests at the stock level.
This would include ensuring the software is behaving as necessary, such as the sensors being calibrated. This team has 7 professionals currently under the hiring manager, being a mix of product managers and engineers.
Must-haves :
- 3+ years of broad testing experience in an ADAS or with automotive Tier-1 suppliers / OEM.
- Proficient building out comprehensive behavioral test plans across multiple different features (these test cases are in sheets such as google sheets or Microsoft word, they are not programmable test cases)
- Technical familiarity with basic python, bash and terminal experience to be able to run commands in the cars
- End cap or new car assessment program knowledge
- Linux environment experience
Plusses :
Familiarity with self driving concepts
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and / or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
