Overview :
Responsible for scheduling Interventional Radiology cases, coordinating the services provided with other departments, hospital personnel, and medical staff to meet the needs of the patients.
Responsibilities :
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Schedules patients for procedures
- Facilitates and confirms coordination of all scheduled cases with the appropriate ancillary areas including scheduling of anesthesia and pathology when required
- Contacts patients to reconfirm scheduled appointments and provide instructions.
- Facilitates communication of all services by answering telephones promptly; relays schedule updates, and changes to appropriate individuals.
- Maintains awareness of physician privileges and confirms physician privileges for procedures before scheduling case.
- Verifies insurance and authorization status of outpatients for Interventional Radiology services.
- Scheduling of Interventional Radiology cases through multiple physician offices.
- Performs other duties as needed and or assigned.
Qualifications :
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent verbal communications and customer relations skills.
- Aptitude for minute detail.
- Significant computer skills.
- Good command of medical terminology
EDUCATION , EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma is required.
- 2 years of experience in Radiology / Medical with customer service preferred.
- CPR certification is required.
