Veterinary Technician - Radiology Diagnostic Imaging

Dive into a world where advanced imaging technology sets the stage for groundbreaking veterinary care! We are seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Veterinary Radiology Technician to join the Friendship Diagnostic Imaging team.

This role involves taking radiographs to support our emergency, specialty, and primary care departments. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced work environment, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to providing high-quality patient careThe schedule is 10 hour shifts, 4 days per week with no on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform veterinary x-rays for various studies (thoracic, abdominal, musculoskeletal, tube placement, neurology pin-shot, etc.).
• Uphold ALARA standards to minimize radiation exposure to staff and patients.
• Communicate professionally with clients, referring veterinarians, and other hospital staff.
• Work collaboratively with radiologists and other diagnostic imaging team members.
• Coordinate with other hospital departments for sedated radiographs and interdepartmental procedures.
• Enter radiograph charges into the invoicing system.
• Cross-train to support other imaging modalities (, ultrasound) as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

• Knowledge of operating and performing veterinary x-rays.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment with a positive attitude.
• Experience with animal restraint and a willingness to learn and employ Fear Free handling techniques.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, IV / IM sedation, IVC placement, and other technical skills.
• Familiarity with common sedatives and experience in monitoring and recovering sedated patients.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology.
• Basic computer skills, including word processing and digital veterinary record systems
• Physical ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for 8-10 hours

$30 - $36 an hoursalary is based on skills and experience.
