Description
Summary : Provide operational support for a) server and server based functions including but not limited to operating systems, security and directory services -OR- b) storage infrastructure and management including but not limited to storage area networks (SAN), NAS and mid tier to enterprise class storage arrays -OR- c) enterprise backup and recovery functions including but not limited to Tivoli Storage Management (TSM), tape archival hardware and software, disaster recovery implementation.
NOTE : ON CALL ROTATION REQUIRED - ONCE Every 5 Week rotation
Minimum Qualifications :
High School or GED (Required)
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
- Power - basic understanding UPS / generator / Etc.
- Basic Data Center concepts - fire suppression, cooling, raised floor
- Server, storage & Network basic understanding

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Installs, configures, maintains, monitors and troubleshoots system level server software and systems with duties such as :
- Cabling - copper, fiber (structured cabling)
- Rack / stack
Establishes and implements LAN policies, procedures and standards and ensures their conformance with information services and the organization's objectives.
Provides technical support, training and consultation to other departments in the Information Systems as well as the entire organization.
Maintains system security at the operating system level.
Assists in developing and maintaining a disaster recovery plan for system software.
Develops awareness in state of the art hardware and software technologies.
Provides on-call support for server level problems.
Performs routine administrative tasks i.e, status report s .
