Join our dynamic team at New Balance where we thrive on innovation, creativity, and a passion for sport and fashion As a Footwear Designer 2, Color & Trend, you will play a vital role where you will work with our seasonal design direction including color, material, and graphics for the sport & energy categories.

If you are an enthusiastic designer with a keen eye for global trends, an innate understanding of color theory, and a deep passion for sports, streetwear, and fashion, we want you on our team!

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILIITES : :

  • Stay ahead of the curve on new trends within sport, streetwear, fashion, and entertainment, and use your research and knowledge to lead color application for player-specific and in-line footwear.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, crafting innovative design concepts that amplify key brand moments in sport, energy, and culture.
  • Research, understand, and filter global trends in sport and fashion.
  • Collaborate with athletes, design, and the sports marketing team to create concepts for special projects.
  • Work closely with concept, color, and material teams to ensure cohesive designs.
  • Act as a liaison between sports marketing, project managers, and design leads, producing concepts, receiving feedback and infusing passion and knowledge of sport categories into your design concepts.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate tech packs for footwear projects inclusive of color, material, and graphics - ensuring attention to detail and timely updates and organized file management.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize workload across varying project timelines and deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS :

  • 5+ years of design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic, product, or fashion design.
  • Proficiency in design programs such as Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop.
  • Understanding of footwear design, construction, and materials.
  • Experience with graphics, both typography and print / pattern / illustration
  • Passion for multiple sports, streetwear, and fashion.
  • Knowledge of color theory and applications.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with a very refined and tasteful eye for design.
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and visual.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines.

Flexible Work Schedule

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations.

To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced Work from Anywhere (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year. This model will help us enhance our culture while continuing to maintain elements of flexibility.
