Zachar Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Principal Security Engineer (for HSM) for a large DoD program in Washington, DC.
The work is hybrid and will require being on site 2-3 days a week. This position requires a Top Secret clearance and will upgrade to SCI.
Responsibilities of the Senior Principal Security Engineer :
- Leading and maturing HSM management functional areas, providing consulting for HSM capabilities
- Operations and administration support for HSM
- Working with audit, cybersecurity, and cryptography teams to select best HSM solutions, maintain documentation and STIG requirements
- Participate in development of HSM management, other encryption and key management strategies
- Perform as key security officer as needed
Requirements for the Senior Principal Security Engineer :
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related technology field
- 15+ years of overall experience
- Strength in symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, encryption, key management security
- 5+ years managing Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) (Utimaco or Thales preferred)
- Experience working in Microsoft Windows / Active Directory environment
- Experience performing encryption key ceremonies as key security officer
- Must have DoD 8570 IAT II certification (Security+ or similar)
- Active Top Secret clearance required (SCI preferred, will upgrade to SCI)
Compensation for the Senior Principal Security Engineer :
- $180,000 - $220,000 annual salary *depending on experience
