Description
The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and / or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting at Dade Correctional Institution located in Florida City, FL.
Shift - Mon- Fri 5 : 30 to 2 : 00
Essential Duties :
- Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
- Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
- Operating radiographic equipment
- Administrative tasks as neededShift -
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
- Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required
- Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
- Certification and / or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
- Must show / obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
