Job Title : Nutritionist
Location : Irving, TX
Schedule : Monday-Friday (hours can vary 7am-6pm)
Pay : $25.00 / hr
Responsibilities : The nutritionist conducts professional nutritional assessments for participants in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
They provide nutrition counseling, laboratory assessments, and determine benefit eligibility.
The nutritionist collects, reviews, and analyzes clinical data and nutritional histories to assess applicants' eligibility for the program, compiling data on weight, height, and iron levels to evaluate general health.
They also refer participants to relevant health services and agencies for additional medical support.
Identify suitable WIC food packages to enhance participants' health, establish health goals and care plans to promote success, and offer specialized counseling for high-risk individuals.
Encourage healthy eating habits, the nutritionist delivers classes, distributes educational materials, and provides individual and group counseling aimed at addressing nutritional deficiencies.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to evaluate participants' medical and nutritional risks, assisting with breastfeeding support and education.
Prepares growth charts, prenatal weight gain trackers, and 24-hour dietary recalls to assess nutritional status. They also support clerical tasks to ensure timely client services and facilitate smooth clinic operations, while being open to any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements :
Must have Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
Bilingual Preferred
Knowledge of City policies and procedures.
Knowledge of dietetics and nutrition.
Knowledge of WIC and community care programs and working with women, infants, and children.
Knowledge of evaluation practices and analysis for personal goal setting.
Ability to interpret weight gain grids, lab results, and other assessments.
Ability to communicate program standards.
Ability to effectively teach, guide, and counsel participants.
Ability to assist and direct various community members and patrons.
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
