Role Overview :

Avsar Construction is seeking a skilled Design Associate to support architectural planning and design for major projects.

We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in large commercial or public facilities, who can contribute effectively to our space planning and construction design needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Determines space needs in terms of anticipated operational requirements, making projections and recommendations for long-range planning or alterations.
• Participates and supports in the administration of the restacking plan, including reviewing related documents, providing responses to Requests for Clarifications, and preparing drawings for alterations.
• Creates scope of work and develops architectural design options using CAD and 3D software for presentation and approval.
• Creates drawings, specifications, and estimates for building alterations and equipment installations based on space requirements and department functions.
• Provides analysis and conducts field surveys and research related to planning and design development.
• Prepares applications and submits to various agencies for approvals; prepares design packets and reports for executive staff.
• Prepares complex architectural drawings, construction details, and plans for improvements and additions to existing structures.
• Provides code analysis as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in large-scale commercial, public or school facilities, using AutoCAD and 3D design software such as SketchUp.
• Demonstrated experience in architectural design, including coordinating with drafting technicians, conducting field investigations, and reviewing vendor and contractor drawings.
• Strong analytical skills to solve architectural challenges like optimizing space usage and allocations.
• Knowledge of ADA requirements, California Department of Education standards, and general building codes.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering from an accredited institution.
