Contract : Long-term / open ended (no given contract end date, this is intended to be indefinite)
- The ability to deliver new model launches in the assigned plant on time, on cost and at the target quality levels.
- Ensure that the daily deployment of the on-site launch meeting cadence is followed, and that all launch processes and standards are followed, and management review documents are adhered to.
- Support delivery of the Vehicle Launch to the prescribed Build Event Timing delivering builds on time, at cost and with quality.
- Interface with the product / manufacturing engineers and assembly plant personnel in identifying issues and timely resolution.
- Coordinate the on-site Modification process, work with the plant and suppliers to track part updates and monitor the plant draw down plan of vehicle inventory at ok to buy.
- Support development of risk mitigation actions and prove out plans to support quality launch.
- Coordinate on going launch team activities including part sign off activities and shortage meeting.
- Movement of pre-production vehicles through the plant inspection / control plan processes with on time delivery to customers.
- Prepare weekly Assessment report(s) including data entry and updating key metrics of the program health.
- Deliver key metrics status and the final presentation for director / management reviews.
- This could at times include work on Saturdays to complete launch objectives.
- There is potential for 6 months of travel in 2022 to either Louisville or Chicago during Launches. Ford reimburses these costs and will reimburse for trips home every two weeks during that time period. Candidates must be open to this to be considered.
Skills Required
Launch Engineering Prototype Planning and Build
Skills Preferred
New Model Launch Proficiency including a working level knowledge of the processes by which New Model Programs launches vehicle programs (i.e. LQOS, GPDS, FPS, etc.).
Experience Required
Engineer, manufacturing, design and / or program management, with Project management or launch experience.
Experience Preferred
Experience with 8-D and problem-solving disciplines using statistical mindsets.
